Local Governance

The Rutherford HealthPlan is a partnership between Rutherford Hospital, the Physicians Alliance of Rutherford County, and local employer groups. This alliance was formed to allow local consumers and health care providers to collaborate on mutual health care interests such as quality of care, appropriate utilization, and cost containment. Member employer groups are invited to participate in the Management Committee, which is the governing body of the health plan. Local physicians and hospital representatives support the plan through participation in an Advisory Board.

The Rutherford HealthPlan understands the difficulties faced by those seeking a health plan that meets their specific needs. Through coordination of physician and hospital services, we are able to provide care at a lower cost than many health plans. Local health care providers are active participants in strategies to contain the cost of health services. In addition, we make every effort to reduce administrative costs yet still provide a satisfactory level of customer service to meet all our members' needs.
